Ocean Obs'19, took place in Hawai'i, USA, from 16-20 September 2019. This Conference, which takes place every 10 years, aimed to galvanize the ocean observing community ranging from scientists to end users and to improve response to scientific and societal needs of a fit-for-purpose integrated ocean observing system, for better understanding the environment of the Earth, monitoring climate, and informing adaptation strategies as well as the sustainable use of ocean resources.
The Conference Statement, drafted by the participants of the event is provided here. The goal of the statement is to capture the major drivers for ocean observing and anticipated outcomes of the conference.
