Research expedition to East Greenland with Lauge Koch

The marine component of the Greenland Ecosystem Monitoring programme conducted its 16th seasonal sampling in Young Sound. The work included a repeated CTD (conductivity, temperature and depth) transect spanning the fjord and deployment of additional moorings and instruments funded by INTAROS to expand the seasonal coverage of observations in the area.

This expedition was performed by The Royal Danish Navy ship Lauge Koch, which was fitted for marine research and conducted its first Arctic scientific campaign to East Greenland. Lauge Koch allowed researchers to study the impacts of melting ice on pelagic carbon cycling and provide measurements on the marine carbonate system for East Greenland fjords.

This mission was a part of the Arctic Science Partnership and was led by INTAROS researcher, Mikael Sejr, Aarhus University.
