EGU General Assembly 2019

The annual EGU General Assembly Conference of the European Geosciences Union will run from 7- 11 April in Vienna, Austria, and promises to bring together over 14,000 scientists from all over the world, of which more than half are early career scientists.

The meeting’s sessions, typically over 500, cover a wide range of topics, including volcanology, planetary exploration, the Earth’s internal structure and atmosphere, climate, as well as energy and resources. Each annual General Assembly typically has around 4500 oral presentations, over 10,000 posters, and around 1000 PICO presentations.

Aside from disciplinary sessions, dealing with the topics covered by each scientific division, the meeting also features Union-wide sessions such as Great Debates, Union Symposia (including the EGU Awards Ceremony), Medal Lectures, Short Courses and Education and Outreach Sessions (such as the Geosciences Information For Teachers workshop, GIFT), to name a few.

Date: 7-11 April 2019.
