Visit INTAROS field site Ambarchik

Researchers at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biogeochemistry (MPI-BGC) have released a short movie about climate research at the Ambarchik field station in Siberia. This site is one of series of field stations where INTAROS sampling is taking place.

Join Friedemann Reum and Mathias Göckede as they measure greenhouse gas concentrations in the air on-site - in the remote locality Ambarchik, onthe Siberian coast of the Arctic Ocean. With their data they calculate how much carbon dioxide and methane escapes from the permafrost soils of the Siberian Arctic into the atmosphere.

Enjoy a first-hand account from a field scientist's experience at this research station via INTAROS Stories. Find more information on permafrost research at the MPI for Biogeochemistry.
